A very interesting story that left me pretty angry at the end. The main character, who usually takes courageous looks at himself, his and his parents' generation, his country... doesn't seem to consider even for a minute why Hanna, who seemed to have reached some sort of peace with her past and her illiteracy, should decide to kill herself before being released.
Instead, he describes himself as he goes through the motions of fulfilling her final, simple wishes.

It took a few pages to get used to the casual, modern manner of Hanna since we first just know her as "Frau Schmitz".

Finished this book in a few days -- it's a great page-turner. I wish it were longer, much, much longer (that's what she said!). Seriously though...
I'm not a religious person, but the purported teachings of Jesus are similar to many other great philosophers and fill up a certain part of your mind and soul. Whether you're a believer or not, the humor throughout "Lamb" only adds a much-needed dimension to Jesus, um Joshua. And if you're going to fill your mind and soul with anything, it should always include plenty of humor.
