This is a hard book to swallow book in some areas. The text itself isn't difficult, but the subject matter is pretty heavy. There are so many different themes that it can send you into overload, but I found that once I'd actually gotten through the book, I was grateful I had. As an American, this book offers such a valuable perspective on the condition of the Middle Eastern family living in western society.
