Interesting read into the lives of three individuals time with the UN and Red Cross, however, I felt that the woman's story and POV via Heidi Postlewait was highly sexualised (perhaps a factor of her real experience with the UN). I found myself wanting to understand more about the situations she found herself in.
Perhaps I am only disturbed as I myself am considering some field work for an NGO and hearing these stories hit too close to home.
I was most intrigued by the story of Andrew Thomson, the UN Doctor from New Zealand.

A book that is both beautiful and haunting. Something to put a serious fear of marriage and suburbia into one's mind... perhaps never to be able to think of these institutions without passing over Music For Torching.

an often heartbreaking collection of short stories - showing love in all of its manifestations, both touching and gut wrenching, healthy and (usually more often than not) unhealthy.
one to re-read without a doubt.
