Earl lived at his Grandma's House there was a yard and the neighbors yard next to it , So Earl saw something that caught his eye which was a butterfly and he chased it into the neighbors yard and finally caught it. His grandma gave him a spanking because she told him not to go to other people's yards so he put the Butterfly in a jar , then went to sleep. When he woke up the Butterflies wings were plaid out and the Butterfly was dead. He started crying his Grandma came in and said "Did you put some holes on the top of the jar" Earl said "No" and she said "then how the poor animal gonna breathe". He was so excited of catching a Butterfly his mind went somewhere else.

Earl Had A Third Grade Teacher Mrs.Smith he said she a black no-nonsense type of person was short kept her hair in a bun and wore a tight face that sed No-Bull.... , she would pull him aside and say "Earl(Hillbilly Type of Voice) I Know Yo Momma raised you better then that. Ever Since he learned how to read he was a good speller and Mrs.Smith soon would have a spelling bee. Also, if you won the spelling bee they put your name up on the bulleting board and buy you a wedge sandwich(Whatever That is) from around the corner. So he wold get bored finishing the spelling bee test, and he would say you know what its Spitball time. Then it got worse he started throwing erasers , then he started stabbing people with pencils. He would always get caught and stay after school, he would become a real bully. Earl says he would make kids say "Oh.... Earl is coming" that would make him laugh.

So , Back to this book and it is something i can relate to. Earl Grandmother didnt like his mom because of the way she was raising him , She thought violence wasnt a way to raise a kid(True) but im jus saying that because im a kid. So he would always go to his Grandma's house because he felt loved, one thing he like about being over at his Grandma's House was he would hear Gospel Music when he woke up also the food. Still Reading Great Great Book!

DMX took a IQ-Test and his scores came back and were higher then people in his school that were three and two years older then him so they had to promote him. But as he says "The smarter he got the more bored he got , and the more bored he got the more trouble he caused" he was a messed up cycle and no-one cared how smart he was. So one day he didn't go home after school he went to some kid named Baron house so they were playing around until his mom was in the back seat of a car looking for him around all Yonkers. She was scared and her eyes were red from crying so then he realizes his mom cares about him. They got home she didn't whip him she talked to him she said "im happy to see you but if you do that again Im Gonna...........". So two days later he did it again and caught a stick in his face, "this is the first time she didnt use an extension cord , broom , or hanger."

Reading this book is good because it helps you in the present and the future DMX had a really rough life involving hate and jealousy and love. I still reading trying to find out whats going on throughout the book and the thing i know now is that all that suffer gave him a present, Fame.

This book is so sad when he turned 1 he had to move to Yonkers because Yonkers had low-income houses and they lived in a small dark 1 bedroom apartment. So he went outside and found a dime and he was so excited he wanted to go to the store but he knew he had to cross River-dale Avenue and that was a big trip for a boy his age so he acted tuff and ran full speed and bought a lollipop and a super-ball. On the way back up he got hit by a car but didn't feel nothing all he was thinking about is how his mother was going to Whoop his derriere. So when he came up from the Hospital the insurance man was at his house and offered them ten thousand dollars but his mom turned it down. This is a very interesting book you guys should give it a look
