This was the first translation of Ovid I ever read. I picked it up thinking that I would never get through it and I ended up not being able to put it down. I have since read parts of the Metamorphoses in the original Latin, and really, nothing in English can compare, but this translation brings it to life more than any other I've seen.
I've wanted to read this for a long time, so I'm kind of excited. The translation by Charles Martin is excellent!
