Gosh this has been on the "Plan to read" list for so long. Wonder if I should just consign it to the "Plan to read but doubtfully will" bin.

If you're looking for that crass Hollywood ending you saw in the movie (What do stars do? Ugh) well, go watch the movie again. What makes the graphic novel truly shine is the simple, honest-to-goodness storytelling coupled with the fantastic artwork. Gaiman + Vess are truly a visionary team.

A refreshing fantasy that's written in the vein of a murder mystery but is ultimately a morality tale about finding, and coming to terms with, the humanity in all of us. Rather charming, and it certainly stands in a unique place amongst books

It's been a while since I've read a book like this - one that takes me on a journey, not just through the story but also down into myself. Some write for the stories themselves, but this book has made me believe Charles de Lint writes to touch people and change the world.
