I was really starting to get annoyed with the book and then I made the turn. In the middle of the second section he really got me interested again. I'm already planning to read it again but maybe in 6+ months.
"You can't know the probability of the outcome, so you should concentrate on potential risks." Not verbatim but this will stick with me.
I'm about 1/4 of the way through it. About at the point where they get to the ring world. I'm so bored... should I keep going?
Good story of zappos and interesting ideas on culture. This book won't blow you away but the examples can be helpful for building your own culture.
I love the example about the Giraffe's vocal cord nerve, wonderful example against intelligent design.
Had I known that the book was the work of a philosopher I might have skipped it. I totally agree that this book could have been edited down.
