Hm. I was partly curious because I'm a big fan of Raymond Chandler and, deciding to branch out into the genre, read Hammett's The Thin Man. Compared to Chandler's atmospheric rambling, Hammett felt sort of cut and dried, a true whodunit. I pretty much swore off him, except to figure I had to read the Maltese Falcon one day, just because. But if you guys are enjoying it, I'll try to give him a fresh look. Oh, and it's good to have you back.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll add it to the Spring list. I've got to read some novels while in school to maintain my sanity.

I'm curious what drove you to start The Maltese Falcon. It seems more like my kind of book than yours. (In fact, it looms somewhere in the middle of my to-read shelf.) And, of course, are you enjoying it?

Let me know what you think of Libyrinth. I just read it for a book club.

Don't over-dwell on subtle nuances of our dialogue regarding "Atheist Delusions" I was curious and interested in comment/discussion. I took no offense, and was glad that you were able to provide concrete information regarding some of my questions/concerns. I took our discussion in the spirit it was intended. I love you too, Josh. All the best.

First, it's awesome that you're currently reading Superfudge. Whether it was when my mother picked it up for me to read in 5th grade, or when my own students read it in school, this book is hilarious every time. Second, thanks for your note about our activities here; we're just getting started, but I'm determined to keep my kids using this site for reflection and communication. Please, write any of them also if you should feel the urge to comment on their posts.

Aric and I were talking about Readernaut on Friday, I just sent him the link an hour ago. I do own Kushiel's Dart. It was a fantasy recommendation of an old highschool friend of mine. I read the first two in the series, but didn't really fall in love with the themes or progression of the story. It centered on the life and court intrigues of an exceptionally gifted sex-worker in a 1960's-style, free-love religion founded on a sort of son-of-jesus travellogue. It's definately unlike anything I'd ever read before. It just didn't resonate with me.

I'm awfully glad you read (and enjoyed) Asterios Polyp and the Last Lonely Saturday. Sharing comics with people has always been one of my favorite things, so thanks for trusting me.

Today works great! Want me to swing by on my way home tonight or at lunch? Do you want to swing by the house yourself? Elizabeth is home all day, but is picking Joanne up from the Airport, so coordinate before you stop by, if that's your intention. Between she and I, we can likely meet you at work at your convenience. I expect to leave work before 5pm, but might (unlikely) have to stay late to get things finished before the weekend.

Thanks for that, Mr. Neds-Fox! Is there I can either pick the book up from you at work on Friday, or from your house today or tomorrow?
