Of course I read it (and watched the movie several times) as a child, and I liked it back then, but reading it as an adult was a wonderful experience. Charlotte's lack of self-importance (contrasted with Zuckerman's inflated self-importance) is inspiring. Wilbur's openness to feeling--all feeling--is beautiful. Fern is like all of us, in that she loses an important connection as she grows up. Putting aside self-importance and learning to feel all feelings again is a start towards reconnection.
