Yeah, upon a second reading - still didn't do it for me. The best parts were Bella figuring out her own powers. The climax was weak and all the angsty love stuff (the whole reason the series was so great) was gone. Just not as engaging as the others in the Twilight saga. I didn't hate it, but definitely not one to rave about.

I'm almost finished. But it keeps getting sillier and sillier. I think I'm mostly disappointed because I love the concept, mood, frame... the whole premise of the story is great. But the characters and "twists" have ruined most of it for me. And the worst part is that I still really like the series.

Agreed! The whole concept of this story (and series) was really amazing, but Breaking Dawn just got silly. Bella keeps talking about how surprised she is to still be "Bella" but I feel like the Bella of the first three books is just gone. And Jacob pisses me off too, he's a glutton for punishment and Bella sucks stringing him along for two and a half books. The series as a whole is still fantastic, but I warn anyone I talk to about it that the last book is a let down. But it didn't make the first three books any less awesome for me.

Joel's comment perfectly sums up my feelings on the series. I know I'll read the books for the third time in the future, and I know I'll groan my way through it :P

I can't agree more with everyone. I just finished it and I feel very let down. You're totally right about Bella not being the same character. Even Edward didn't feel the same.
