I have no idea why every review I read about this book is good. It's terrible. That may be part of it's charm to some reviewers, but for people like me with both feet on the ground and lack of an English Major from an ivy league college... this is crap. It's porn, is what it is, and it isn't very good at that, either.
I was informed of Wallace's work through NPR. They said his work "took an effort", that sort of thing. I see now what they meant, I guess. What, with the run on sentences that last for two paragraphs and descriptions of a wife tasting her husbands bits while he was not having any of it...
Well, I abandoned this book and offered it up on paperback swap. It went fairly quick. I hope whoever has it now is pleased with it, because I sure wasn't.
